Meet Victoria Adesanmi, a talented multidisciplinary designer and the founder of Aesthetics Studios. As one of our first Tea Party attendees she continues to inspire Black Women to Walk by Faith and Not by Sight.
Drawing inspiration from her Nigerian upbringing, where her mother’s impeccable decor sense and her father’s DIY skills transformed their household, Victoria infuses this ethos into her interior design work.
Following the completion of her bachelor’s degree in industrial design with a minor in textile technology at North Carolina State University, she proceeded to embark on her career as a color and material designer at Adidas, where she collaborated with Beyoncé and Jonah Hill. Did we forgot to mention that she’s “that Gworl?”
Through her work, Victoria creates environments that honor the sanctity of home. She understands the importance of infusing personal narratives and experiences into every design, allowing her clients to feel a deep sense of connection and comfort within their spaces. So we asked Vic to spill a few of her favorite must have items that will elevate any space.
1. What interior designer/artist you’re currently obsessed with and why.
“lately, i’ve been obsessing over luis barragan! he was both an architect and engineer. I had a chance to view his work in person while in mexico city. I love the way he used color and light considering his form was minimal in style and embodied the modernist movement.”
2. Must haves for apartment/house that elevates your space?
“a fire candle! my favorite is santal from le labo.
don’t sleep on copping a fire coffee table too! a good statement piece of furniture is always worth the investment and a conversation starter.”
3. Favorite quote that refuels and motivates you?
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
Ephesians 3:20 NLT
